Started in 2014 by Tim and Michelle Borland and their three kids, the Bar SZ Ranch is a true family business with a mission to help others “forge their legacy.” Set on 2200-acres in its own valley with iconic California oak trees and golden hills; views of the surrounding mountains and Pinnacles National Park; and painted, sunlit skies, this working ranch offers a unique, destination experience with grit.

As fun and authentic as can be. Bar SZ Ranch has you get to know the horses before you ride, helps you to understand how to prepare the horses for a ride, then takes for a test ride in the arena to make sure you know how to guide the horse. Everyone is legitimately friendly and concerned about your safety. Five stars for sure.

Such a fun experience. The grounds/trail were beautiful and the ride was perfect. We got time with the horses learning to get them ready and our girls loved hearing all about it. Wonderful!

This was a fun family event. Michelle was wonderful with the children, ensuring safety for the children and and the animals while teaching the children how to feed the animals. She brought animals out and put them in play pens for the children to play and pet the animals, making sure they each got attention, took turns and special time. They introduced the children to farm life and caring for these animals. They even got to gather eggs.

An absolute delight! Our 3 kids had so much fun with the animals, they got to pet, feed, and help which was so enjoyable for them and the staff were amazing! Will definitely recommend the experience and be back ourselves

Absolutely fantastic few days at BarSZ ranch. We were made to feel so welcome by the Borland family and our family (with 3 girls) loved being able to experience riding and grooming their very well cared for horses and learning how they also train wild mustangs. Such an idyllic location and a very special experience for the memory bank. Thank you

Had a brilliant time staying in the glamping tent at the ranch!! I would highly recommend it. Michelle, Tim and all the family and staff were really helpful and kind. The horse riding and shooting experiences were great fun too. Definitely stay there if you have the chance.
